About Us

WE ARE PEOPLE FEEDING PEOPLE

MORE THAN 80% OF ZAMBIAN POPULATION LIVES UNDER THE POVERTY DATUM LINE

ENOCK MWEWA | PROJECT LEAD

The Zambia Food Bank Project aims to address food inequality and food insecurity which is existing in most Zambian communities. According to a report by JESUIT Centre for Theological Reflection (JCTR), a family of 5 needs K9, 411.50 (553 USD) for its Basic Needs and Nutrition Basket (BNNB). The bad news is that more than 80% of Zambians live under the poverty line of less than $5 a day making it hard for them to maintain a well-balanced diet. The Zambia Food Bank project therefore works with individuals, businesses, charity organizations, private and public institutions to support people with healthy food through food rescue and recovery as well as food donations. Our partners include glossary stores, hotels, lodges, restaurants, farms and many others.
